"I wasn't made for this world," Caviar said softly. There was no sadness in her voice, only a vague and slightly dreamy resignation. She walked over to the machine and got in. The car's engine roared for a brief moment. Then, like a darting silver fish, it was gone. It bulleted steadily over the horizon and disappeared without warning, completely out of sight. He wondered if he would ever see her again. Just then, he looked down. She had dropped a plasma note on the desert floor. He entered the code and waited for the words to appear. "Forget me, or I shall kill you," it read. He stared back at the horizon, wondering just how long he had to live...
